Bold Act finished third in Group company for a second time as he produced a late rally in the 10-furlong G2 Prix Eugene Adam at Saint-Cloud, France, on Saturday, 8 July.

The son of New Approach, who filled the same spot in last month’s G3 Hampton Court Stakes at Royal Ascot, soon tracked Knight To King in second of the five runners.

Bold Act lost his position after becoming unbalanced approaching the final quarter-mile but responded well for James Doyle in the closing stages, missing out on second by a head.

His trainer Charlie Appleby said: “Bold Act ran another creditable race. It looks as though stepping up to a mile and a half is going to suit, so it’s something that we will consider for the future.”
