One-time Kentucky Derby hopeful Poster continues his comeback from injury in the G3 Harlan’s Holiday Stakes at Gulfstream Park, USA, on Saturday, 20 December.

The Eoin Harty-trained colt was unbeaten in three juvenile starts in 2024, notably winning the G2 Remsen Stakes, and started his season with two creditable runs in trials, including taking fourth in the G3 Jeff Ruby Stakes at Turfway Park.

A small condylar fracture subsequently forced the Munnings homebred to forfeit any Kentucky Derby ambitions, with Sovereignty going on to glory on the first Saturday in May.

Poster made a winning return to action at Churchill Downs last month as he comfortably defeated seasoned opposition in an allowance optional claimer.

Michael Banahan, Director of Bloodstock, Godolphin USA, said: “Poster ran very well winning his comeback race last month, when he was taking on older horses for the first time.

“He has pleased Eoin since and he was very happy with his breeze on Tuesday morning. We have to take on multiple Graded Stakes winner Skippylongstocking here, although Flavien Prat, who rode Poster to win the Remsen, returns for the ride.

“It was disappointing that we had to take him off the Ky Derby trail last spring, but the time off has done him well and he should enjoy returning to the main track. I expect him to run very well and hopefully pick up another Graded Stakes win to set him up for a productive 2026.”
