Quiet Street third in G2 Miss Grillo Stakes

Quiet Street continued a strong start to her career as she stayed on well to take third in the G2 Miss Grillo Stakes at Aqueduct, USA, on Saturday, 4 October.
Stepping up to an extended mile after winning a Saratoga maiden and the Untapable Stakes at Kentucky Downs, the Bill Mott-trained filly broke on terms and crossed over from her wide draw to settle in seventh of the 11 runners.
Ground Support won the early battle for the lead and strode on into a two-length advantage after the first quarter-mile, with Junior Alvarado happy to ride a stalking race on Quiet Street, some five lengths behind the pace-setter.
Having taken closer order around runners turning in, Quiet Street looked poised to challenge in sixth at the top of the straight, but the Street Boss homebred was forced to switch as Believe In Magic shifted out.
Quiet Street drifted back inside and finished strongly once straightening up, grabbing third half a furlong out, to go down by two and a half lengths in total behind all-the-way winner Ground Support.
