Traffic Warden stamps Golden Rose ticket with thrilling Rosehill win

Traffic Warden made the perfect start to his three-year-old campaign as he swooped to get up close home in the G2 Run To The Rose at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday.
The Street Boss colt had already shown his ability during an excellent juvenile campaign and was only denied top-level success when going down by a nose in April’s ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes. He will get another G1 opportunity later this month when he joins Broadsiding in the Golden Rose.
Unbeaten two-year-old Desert Flower (pictured) has G1 ambitions of her own following her victory in the G2 May Hill Stakes at Doncaster on Thursday, with the Fillies’ Mile a possible end-of-season target for the Night Of Thunder filly. Hallasan captured a valuable sales race on the same card and he could be aimed at Meydan’s three-year-old turf series over the winter.
Beautiful Love ensured a Godolphin clean sweep of the Turf Tiara in New York as she flew home to take Saturday’s G3 Jockey Club Oaks at Aqueduct, adding to the victories of Cinderella’s Dream in the Belmont Oaks and Saratoga Oaks.
Al Qudra suffered trouble in running when finishing second behind New Century in the G1 Summer Stakes at Woodbine on the same day. The Charlie Appleby-trained colt had previously beaten the winner twice before, including in the Listed Pat Eddery Stakes at Ascot in July.
