Veil Of Shadows picked up some more G3 Black Type as she stayed on to finish third in the Herbst-Stuten-Preis at Hanover, Germany, on Sunday, 27 October.
Runner-up in last season’s G3 Pride Stakes at Newmarket, the Henri-Alex Pantall-trained four-year-old soon raced in ninth of the 12 runners, some eight lengths behind the early pacesetter Sacaya.
Veil Of Shadows took closer order as the field bunched turning for home, with Adrie de Vries switching the Frankel filly wide at the top of the straight to deliver her challenge.
Having quickened between horses to take third just inside the final furlong, Veil Of Shadows saw out the 11 furlongs well to go down by just over five lengths in total behind Ultima and Egina.
