Zardozi retires to Godolphin’s Woodlands Stud
An unbeaten two-year-old, winning all three starts, Zardozi announced herself as a star three-year-old filly in the spring of 2023 winning the G2 Edward Manifold (1,600m) en route to an emphatic victory in the G1 VRC Oaks (2,500m).
She would go on to win the G2 Phar Lap (1,500m) as well as placing in the G1 Australian Oaks, G1 Vinery Stud Stakes, G1 Metropolitan and G1 Australia Cup.
Trained by James Cummings and Ciaron Maher, Zardozi was a model of consistency at the elite level, recording six wins and more than AU$2.6 million in prizemoney.
Andy Makiv, Managing Director of Godolphin Australia, said:
“Zardozi possesses brilliance and class as well as genuineness and toughness, the qualities seen in great racemares.”
“With her depth of pedigree and outstanding race record, she is a mare held in the highest regard by our team.”
