Mountain Song continued her fine season as she stormed home to take second after meeting trouble in running in the G3 Prix Bertrand de Tarragon at Chantilly, France, on Saturday, 21 September.

Making her Group-race debut on the back of a Listed win at Longchamp, the Henri-Alex Pantall-trained filly raced prominently leaving the stalls before being taken back towards the rear of the 11 runners.

Mickael Barzalona switched Mountain Song to the inside rail approaching the final half-mile and the Godolphin homebred found herself behind a wall of horses with two furlongs to race.

Mountain Song was repeatedly denied a clear run until finding space well inside the final furlong. She hit the line full of running, getting to within a head of Andromede at the line.
