Infinite Sky surges late for G2 Jessamine Stakes second

Infinite Sky backed up the promise of a recent maiden success as she flashed home to take second following a troubled run in the G2 Jessamine Stakes at Keeneland, USA, on Friday, 3 October.

A decisive winner at Kentucky Downs in September, the Brad Cox-trained juvenile was done no favours leaving the stalls as Loveliest drifted into her path, forcing Luan Machado to snatch up the Godolphin homebred.

Having been lit up by the incident, Infinite Sky had to be taken back again when Time To Dream slowed in front of her after the first quarter-mile, leaving her in a clear last.

Infinite Sky moved up a spot leaving the back and was ridden for luck down the inside rail turning in. Forced to switch early in the straight, the half-sister to Wet Paint quickened strongly between horses inside the final furlong, edging out Time To Dream and Soloist in a blanket finish for the minor honours.
